Cerys Preece
Senior Public Health Practitioner
Cerys has previously worked as a Public Health Practitioner for both Cardiff and the Vale, and Cwm Taf Local Public Health Teams on a range of health improvement topics, and led a smoking cessation team (SSW) as a Senior Advisor. Since 2015 she has been a Senior Practitioner for the National Health Improvement division within Public Health Wales, with a main focus of alcohol, Making Every Contact Count (MECC) and healthy universities and colleges.
Cerys has a background in community development having started her career in public health in the charity sector and the flagship Communities First programme. Cerys is a keen advocate of collaborative and partnership working, and is a mentor and assessor for the UKPHR scheme. Cerys joined the team in September 2021 and is passionate about reducing health inequalities in Wales.
