Emma Girvan
Senior Public Health Practitioner
Emma has worked in the field of health in the NHS for over 15 years and has spent the last 9 years working with the Betsi Cadwaladr Local Public Health Team as a Senior Practitioner before joing the Wider Determinants of Health Unit in October 2023.
Emma started her Public Health career supporting Flintshire Local Health Board in North Wales to achieve the Public Health Wales Corporate Health Standard Award and then went on to work in England for Wirral Community NHS Trust as a Weight Management Advisor for the Level 3 Weight Management Services.
In her previous role as Senior Practitioner within the Local Public Health Team, Emma led on many topics including Making Every Contact Count, Best Start and Healthy Weight Children and Adults. During this time Emma achieved a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health with Chester University and hopes to one day complete the full Masters.
Emma is a keen advocate for reducing inequalities in health and ensuring every child has the best start in life.
