With Public Health Network Cymru
Public Health Wales’s recent Health Impact Assessment recognises that climate change is the greatest threat to health and wellbeing that Wales will face this century. Understanding, preparing for, and adapting to the health impacts of climate change will be a key area for the health system and partners over the next decade.
A number of reports have shared insights and information on the health impacts of climate change but do we have all the evidence we need to make real change? Where are the gaps in our knowledge and understanding? What questions do we need to ask to ensure the strategies and approaches we take are the most effective?
This webinar brought together current evidence on the health impacts of climate change across Wales including recent reports from Public Health Wales. Climate change is going to have a significant impact on health and wellbeing in Wales – increasingly frequent extreme weather events have occurred in Wales in recent years and impacted infrastructure, services and population physical and mental wellbeing. We need robust evidence to help the health sector to adapt to these changes.
Learning Outcomes:
Attendees will gain an understanding of
– the health and wellbeing impacts of climate change in Wales and the risks and opportunities at a Wales and UK level
– the existing evidence around the health impacts of climate change
– the need for gap analysis across all aspects of our response to climate change to ensure long-lasting and effective change.
