Dr Ciarán Humphreys
Consultant in Public Health
After completing general medical training in Ireland, he began his specialist training in public health in Wales in 2002, spending a year developing community based HIV services in the Lubombo region, Kingdom Eswatini (formerly Swaziland).
He has substantial experience in using data and evidence to inform public health action, playing a key role in the establishment of the Child Measurement Programme for Wales, the Public Health Outcomes Framework for Wales and the Public Health Wales Observatory.
After four years seconded as Director of Health Intelligence for Public Health Wales, he changed roles in order to establish and lead the Wider Determinants of Health Unit in 2019.
