Briefing on new Climate Action Wales communications programme
On 13 July a Written Statement was issued by the Minister for Climate Change, Julie James MS to mark the publication of a national ’Climate Action Wales – Public Engagement Strategy’.
The purpose of this new Strategy is to set out a framework for the Welsh Government, and our national and regional climate communications delivery partners to work together to support and engage the people and communities of Wales in action on the climate and nature emergencies.
The new Strategy commits to the Welsh Government engaging with other national, regional and local communications networks to encourage a ‘community of campaigns’ delivered under the new Climate Action Wales brand. As a valued delivery partner, we would like to invite you to attend one of two briefing workshops we will be organising on the following dates:
15:00-16:30 – Tuesday, 29th August 2023; and
15:00-16:30 – Tuesday, 5th September 2023.
The workshops will be virtual (held via Microsoft Teams) and will cover the same content and format. They will begin with an overview on the new Strategy, the new national campaign to be launched later September, and the new Climate Action Wales website (see: https://www.climateaction.gov.wales/). You will then be invited to join break-out groups to discuss opportunities for collaborating on the delivery of the campaign, and to provide initial feedback and explore opportunities to contribute future content for the new website.
If you would like to join, please respond to Grasshopper Communications (the organisers) via email to: caw@grasshopper-comms.co.uk, or telephone 02920 024427 confirming which day you wish to attend and you will be sent a calendar invite with a link to access the meeting. Please forward this email to any colleagues or other organisations you think would also be interested in attending. If you are unable to join on either date but would like to be included on a list for future workshops organised to discuss the Climate Action Wales communications programme, then please also respond directly to Grasshopper Communications.
