Calling for a ‘Summer of Play’ for all children across the UK
The #SummerOfPlay campaign calls for play to be prioritised this summer to support children’s health and well-being and recovery from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Playing provides opportunities for social interaction and physical activity and can reduce children’s stress and promote well-being. It is vital that all children are given the time and safe space they need to reconnect and play with friends and to enjoy a wide range of playful opportunities. Everyone has a role to play in making this possible. Every setting counts – parks, streets, schools, playgrounds, public space and more.
