People who have been in contact with criminal justice have worse health outcomes than the general population but face increased barriers to meet their health needs. Continuity of care between community and secure environments is key to minimise the risk to some of our most vulnerable population. This session will introduce a public health approach to primary healthcare and criminal justice, share evidence from professionals and people with lived experience, and introduce the opportunity to contribute to All-Wales guidance on continuity of care for partners across primary care and justice, sharing experience and best practice, so we can all work together in ensuring that we meet the populations needs.
