About this event

Health inequalities in Wales are increasing, and while the root causes often lie outside the healthcare system, there is a crucial role for primary care in addressing these disparities. By taking proactive steps, we can help to mitigate and reduce these differences, ensuring equitable healthcare for everyone. However, if we are not careful, our actions could inadvertently widen these gaps. It’s essential that we recognise the impact primary care can have and take deliberate actions to make a positive difference.

This webinar explores the Inverse Care Law Programme in Wales. Join us in charting a path towards equity. We hope to discover promising strategies at policy levels, and engage in dialogue with healthcare professionals, policymakers and community leaders, and to develop actionable solutions and ways to embed the recommendations from this programme into primary care for prevention and sustainability.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Increase awareness and understanding of the Inverse Care Law programme in Wales.
  • Showcase promising strategies and initiatives used in Wales and their outcomes aimed at addressing health inequalities at policy levels in Wales.
  • Foster dialogue among healthcare professionals, policymakers and academics to develop strategies for promoting health equity.
  • Empower participants to consider ways to emphasise the need to embed this work into primary care for prevention and sustainability.
