Evidence indicates that both social housing tenants, people seeking sanctuary (asylum seekers and refugees) are more commonly isolated, more likely to suffer from mental ill health and experience economic hardship than other groups of people.
The CAPITAL project focused on bringing people together from different backgrounds who would not usually interact or connect with each other, specifically social housing tenants and people seeking sanctuary, to take part in an asset-based community development (ABCD) project in a community in South Wales, with the aim of facilitating integration and building stronger relationships.
