Physical Activity
The World Health Organization (WHO, 2021) defines physical activity as any bodily movement produced by skeletal muscles that requires energy expenditure. Physical activity therefore includes bodily movements which take place at work, in the home, travelling to places or during a person’s leisure time. Both moderate physical activity such as brisk walking or cycling and vigorous intensity physical activity improve health.
