Place-based approaches to improve health and reduce inequalities

Taking a place-based approach to improving health and reducing inequalities can give us a better understanding of how to coordinate actions and investments to improve the quality of life for communities. Health inequalities arise because of the conditions in which we are born, grow, live, work and age. These conditions influence our opportunities for good health, and how we think, feel and act, and this shapes our mental health, physical health and wellbeing. By taking a joined up, place-based approach we can improve the conditions of communities which will support people to live healthier lives in a community that encourages them to flourish. In this e-bulletin we have a range of articles which cover national regional and local initiatives, policies and programmes using a place-based Approach in Wales.
