Growing up in Wales - Spark

Monday 27th January 2025
With WISERD - Wales Institute of Social and Economic Research and Data

Please join us, along with the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Lynne Neagle, at this event to celebrate over a decade of the WMCS (WISERD Education Multi-Cohort Study) and discover how to access our data via the WISERD data portal.

Funded by Welsh Government, the WMCS is a longitudinal study charting the progress of children and young people growing up in Wales over time. It has been running since 2012, surveying three year groups of secondary school pupils annually.  It provides a wealth of evidence on young people’s lives on topics such as pupil perceptions of school, the new curriculum, racism, discrimination, political engagement, and the Welsh language, alongside more global issues such as climate change.  The WMCS is a valuable resource used by researchers, practitioners and policymakers across Wales.

Timings: 1pm-2.30pm presentations and Q&A, followed by refreshments and networking 2.30pm-3pm.
