About this event

The Wales Health Impact Assessment Support Unit (WHIASU), Public Health Wales (PHW) is hosting an event to bring together professionals working, or with an interest in, spatial planning and health to develop an increased understanding of the potential that  collaborative working can bring.

There are key joint issues to address both now and in the future, including climate change, post COVID-19 regeneration and an ageing population. Through collaboration of planning and health professionals, these issues can be addressed through an evidence-based approach which can bring substantial benefits to the health and well-being of our communities.

Speakers at the event will give their perspectives on how planning and health collaboration can address these issues. Other topics for discussion at the event will include the forthcoming Health Impact Assessment (HIA) regulations for Wales under the Public Health (Wales) Act 2017, and examples of the use of the planning and health tools for collaborative working.

The event is aimed at Policy and Development Management planners; health professionals from local health boards including public health teams; transport planners, environmental health officers, built environment professionals and anyone with an interest in this agenda.
