Our Global Health Offer: Public Health Wales’ International Health Strategy Refresh

Thursday 30th November 2023
With Public Health Network Cymru

International health engagement and learning is now more important than ever. It is vital to the health and well-being of the people of Wales for us to share learning, exchange knowledge and build upon best practice from our partners around the world.

The webinar introduced Public Health Wales’ refreshed International Health Strategy, what it is and why it is important.

Professor Fu-Meng Khaw from Public Health Wales talked about his international health work via his role as The International Association of National Public Health Institutes (IANPHI) organisational lead and co-chair of IANPHI National Focal Point network.  Attendees heard about the potential of international health collaborations and the opportunities they bring.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand why we have an International Health strategy
  • Understand the importance/benefits of international health work
  • Understand some of the activities supporting International Health work
  • Understand that International Health doesn’t always mean travelling to another county
  • Be part of our community of practice if they are interested
